King Kevin was born Kevin Dukes, on May 19th 1971 in Kingston, St. Andrew, Jamaica. "When I was growing up I liked a lot of soul, R&B, Jazz, and Disco, but not much Reggae, only Bob and a few others." King Kevin found the Reggae industry pouring out more and more of the same thing musically, and much in need of a fresh sound.
